約翰·羅納德·魯埃爾·托爾金（1892—1973）是牛津大學教授，古英語專傢，寫瞭不少小說，其中最著名的是《霍比特人》（又譯作《小矮人曆險記》〈1937〉）與《魔戒》（1954—1955）。
托爾金是日耳曼人後裔，他的父係祖先十八世紀從薩剋森移居英國，父親是銀行職員，母親傢族則是當地人。童年托爾金的傢境窘迫，四歲時父親客死他鄉，十二歲時，母親死於糖尿病，這在當時是不治之癥。他與弟弟成瞭孤兒，由法蘭西斯神父撫養。

改动最大可能是第二部，但损失最大的可能就是这最后一部了吧！ 很多人看电影的时候觉得最后的段落太冗长拖沓，殊不知与原著相比已经简炼得不能再简炼了。其实，大战过后那些琐碎的收尾、尤其是浓浓的离愁别绪，真的很难用影像的方式来表现。文字的优势在这方面还是无法替代的。
評分 評分 評分关于作品： 这作品很多将其看作奇幻文学开山之作，说实话如果说对后世相关有所启发则相对公允，毕竟在托尔金心里似乎并是那么想。 从小说整体来看，托尔金只是在叙述一部历史，一部远古时代失落的诗篇，更一部恢宏的神话。因为若是将那些奇幻成份去掉，事实上一切在现实中发生...
