《国际航运专业英语》有别于目前市场上种类繁多的商务英语书籍。在推出这套教材之前，我们对商务英语图书市场进行了深入的调研与分析。这次调研发现市场上现有的商务英语类书籍多以阅读、写作和听说类为主，选材涉及经济、工商、金融、贸易等，其特点之一是涉及到的专业内容没有系统性和完整性，其二是编写的出发点主要在语言上。当然，市场上也有一些以专业知识为内容的教科书，但它们往往都是零散的，很难满足不同背景读者的不同需要；偶尔上市的这类系列教材，要么系统性不强，要么只重专业知识或只重语言学习，鲜有两者有机结合的。因此，目前读者特别需要一套系统性强、专业知识与语言技能训练兼容、能满足不同读者需要的教材。

中国国际商务英语研究会副主任，上海海事大学外国语学院国际商务英语系主任，国际航运(商务)英语研究所所长。

国际航运经贸文献翻译硕士生导师，国际商务英语学科带头人，国际商务英语专家组成员，国际商务英语证书考试注册考官。1993年9月至1996年9月在中英浦东高级国际商务英语培训中心(SBET)与英方国际商务专家合作进行国际商务英语教学与研究，2002—2003年在英国伯明翰城市大学(原英格兰中央大学)商学院做访问教授，为该商学院客座教授，在英国期间与剑桥大学考试委员会(UCLES)专家合作进行国际商务英语考试研究，同时兼任国际商务公司国际商务顾问及商务英语翻译顾问，主要从事国际商务、国际航运(商务)英语教学与研究，所任课程主要有：国际商务概论、国际物流英语、国际航运英语、国际商务英语、商务英语翻译等，主编四套18本国际商务、国际商务英语丛书，发表及出版论文，著作近40篇本，其中包括：《商务英语研究》(专著)，《国际商务导论》(专著，英文版)、《国际支付》(英文版)、《国际物流精要》(英文版)、《国际商贸实践》(英文版)、《简明商务英语词典》、《当代国际商务英语翻译》(专著)，《行家面授剑桥商务英语证书考试》(VCD)等。
