House buying is being revolutionised! This book is divided into 12 age bands, from 1980 to pre 1670, with commentary explaining the social, economic and technical circumstances of the time which resulted in the dwellings appearing as they do. The broad range of dwellings covered should provide the necessary assistance towards identifying the age of a dwelling in any part of the United Kingdom. The series contains all the procedures and tasks involved in the preparation of reports on dwellings whether required by buyers, lenders or sellers. It follows the guidelines laid down by the courts and professional bodies and the likely statutory requirements for the Government's intended Home Condition Reports (HCR). Under the present programme it will be compulsory for Home Information Packs, of which the HCR will be part, to be produced before a dwelling is marketed for sale from 2006. "Inspections and Reports on Dwellings: Assessing Age" aims to help interested parties in putting this report together. It contains 72 colour photos of dwellings built within each period - nearly 900 photos in total. An overview of the images draws attention to particular features. It covers the range of dwellings from old to new, the large to small, and those built privately and those built by local authorities. This is the first publication on the Government's proposed Housing Bill.
