著者簡介

畢飛宇，男，1964年生於江蘇興化，1987年畢業於揚州師範學院中文係，從教五年。著有中短篇小說近百篇。主要著作有小說集《慌亂的指頭》、《祖宗》等。現供職於《南京日報》。近年來畢飛宇得奬眾多，其中有：首屆魯迅文學奬短篇小說奬（《哺乳期的女人》）。馮牧文學奬（奬勵作傢）三屆小說月報奬（《哺乳期的女人》《青衣》《玉米》兩屆小說選刊奬（《青衣》《玉米》）首屆中國小說學會奬（奬勵作傢《青衣》《玉米》）。畢飛宇說：《玉米》是他的最愛，是他為年青一代人寫的，他希望他們喜歡。

Despite the fact that this translated version by the famous translator and his wife has won Bi Feiyu an international title, such a qualified piece is still not without flaws. Luckily enough, some genius rearrangement and creation based on thorough understanding of the original work has helped demonstrate the very essence of an ambitious writer.

讀兩個版本有不同的感受，很多在中文語境裏不覺得荒誕的情節，到瞭英文語境反而體現齣來瞭。譯本在保留原著文學性這一方麵還是做得不錯，可讀性較高。
