The compulsive behavior known as womanizing is examined in this popular presentation by psychotherapist Carpineto ( Husband Hunting: How to Win at the Mating Game ). Although directed mainly at women who are the "secondary players" of this behavior, the book also addresses the problems such obsession causes for men and their families. Confirming the generally held theory that adult relationships are determined to a great extent by parental connections, Carpineto constructs a psychological background for womanizing and illustrates with anecdotes from her practice the problems women have with men who are unfaithful.
