罗伯特•J•索耶
1960年出生于渥太华，加拿大最具影响力的科幻作家之一，被誉为加拿大“科幻教父”。
自1990年发表第一部长篇小说《金羊毛》以来，索耶已出版十八部长篇小说和大量中短篇小说，共获得过包括雨果奖和星云奖在内的各种科幻奖项四十一次。他的作品曾多次荣登加拿大畅销小说排行榜，并被翻译成十多种文字，备受世界各国读者喜爱。
2007年，索耶被中国读者评选为银河奖最受欢迎的外国作家。
