作者简介
史迪芬·E·卢卡斯，美国顶尖的传播学者，威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校交际艺术学教授。被誉为“演讲之父”。
1972年始执教于威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校至今。自1973年开始。卢卡斯教授在威斯康星大学主持演讲课程。30多年来，他组织了无数次教学教材革新，先后培养了数百位研究生助教。他应邀主持或参加的各类演讲培训项目几乎遍及全美各地的高校。2002年起连续五年担任我国“21世纪杯”和”CCTV杯”等全国大学生英语演讲比赛的评委。
卢卡斯教授学术成就卓著。他的第一本著作《反抗的征兆：费城的修辞与革命(1765—1776)》．获得美国传播学会1977年度金奖，并获普利策奖提名。此后．又因一系列的重要文章如《美国公共演讲的复兴：修辞学批判的文本和语境》(1988)、《独立宣言的风格艺术》(1990)、《独立宣言的修辞学溯源》(1998)等荣获美国传播学会专题论文年度金奖。
