The first man is Jacques Cormery, whose poverty-stricken childhood in Algiers is made bearable by his love for his silent and illiterate mother, and by the teacher who transforms his view of the world. The most autobiographical of Camuss novels, it gives profound insights into his life and the powerful themes underlying his work.
著者简介
阿尔贝•加缪（Albert Camus，1913—1960），法国声名卓著的小说家、散文家和剧作家，“存在主义”文学大师。
加缪在作品中深刻揭示了人在异己的世界中的孤独、个人与自身的日益异化以及罪恶和死亡的不可避免。
1957 年他因“热情而冷静地阐明了当代向人类良知提出的种种问题”而获诺贝尔文学奖，成为有史以来最年轻的诺贝尔文学奖获奖作家。代表作品有《局外人》《鼠疫》《西西弗神话》等。
