著者簡介

蘇珊娜·剋拉剋 生於1959年．是英國諾丁漢郡一位教士的女兒．童年時代在英格蘭北部和蘇格蘭的許多小鎮都生活過。畢業於牛津大學聖希爾達學院，先後從事過教師和圖書編輯工作，現居英國劍橋。2005年，《大魔法師》榮獲素有“書界奧斯卡”之稱的英國圖書奬的兩個專項奬。蘇珊娜·剋拉剋亦藉此書捧得“最佳新人”奬。

小說把英國老派紳士的做派刻畫的淋灕盡緻，語言中的嘲弄讓人忍俊不禁。童話似的敘事給作品籠罩上瞭一層神秘的麵紗。在宏大曆史背景下每個人物的命運都讓人唏噓不已，恍如一夢。

苏姗娜.克拉克的《英伦魔法师》在国内并不是第一次出版。如果是奇幻小说爱好者，一定会记得若干年前，有一本名为《大魔法师》，由吉林出版集团刊印发行的奇葩奇幻小说——说奇葩，是因为这本书的装订烂到令人发指——这两者是同一本小说。本来洗版应该是一件好事，譬如《魔戒...
