care is likely to involve laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures.
Such involvement may include multiple aspects of preparing for the test,
assisting during its course, and monitoring its effects. For example, you
are often responsible for ensuring that patients are correctly prepared for
testing; for ensuring that tests are correctly ordered; for assisting the ex-
aminer during the actual procedure; for supporting and reassuring the
patient during difficult or painful procedures; for quickly transmitting
properly prepared specimens to the laboratory in appropriate containers;
for assisting with the monitoring of test results; for monitoring compli-
cations during and after the test; and finally, for providing appropriate
post-test care.
