To photograph people is to violate them, by seeing them as they never see themselves, by having knowledge of them that they can never have; it turns people into objects that can be symbolically possessed. 論述嚴謹且平易近人，語言豐滿有時辛辣，引經據典，與繪畫作比較，就是有點囉嗦，比如桑塔格對於攝影超現實本質的看法，很多重復。攝影的本質是衰敗和拼貼。對於旅遊攝影的嘲諷力max，非常喜歡~如果她活到現在，很想看她如何分析自拍。

對西方攝影以及理論看得還不多隻知道Weston Adams布勒鬆和Atget這些人所以沒有context理解起來有點兒睏難。Sontag的critical thinking值得學習！總而言之就是沒有看太懂但是還是很有收獲

Melancholy Objects和Image-World兩章很有趣放今天有些觀點顯然也是如過去的攝影圖集一般有時間痕跡（不過引入digitalization後或許攝影於現實的存在並沒有什麼本質變化？隻是擁有瞭更強勁的復製與消費速率？）總之Sontag的思辨和角度依然是非常啓發的
