由于年代的问题，本书中许多翻译并不与现行大部分翻译统一。举例来说，本书中提到西拉库赛，现行翻译一般是叙拉古；神庙戴尔波伊，现行翻译一般是特尔斐；波斯国王克谢尔克谢斯，现行翻译一般是薛西斯等等。需要读者多加注意。
