温特斯本人的回忆录，以退伍军人的冷静朴实，叙述自己从参军到退伍的经历和感受。《兄弟连》是一幅英雄群像，而《亲历兄弟连》是一曲战歌独奏。温特斯不愧是安布罗斯笔下那个最温柔的人，他本人的文字，文采斐然又质朴自然，语气谦卑却时时流露出可爱的小得意。读其书想见其为人。
评分Major Dick Winters个人的战争回忆录。因为他一路就是从E连升上去的，所以基本上和兄弟连的故事是一致的。Embrose写书用的材料就是Winters提供的，所以有很大一部分重合。但还有很多Winters自己的故事，自己的体会。看完最大的感受就是，Dick Winters是个圣人，真的是个圣人。严于律己，在一线带兵打仗，lead by example，不喝酒，谦逊。别人都出去玩喝酒的时候，他在研读战术书。在英国最放松最喜欢的时候是教堂里。补充了一些兄弟连里没提到过的细节，还有兄弟连电视剧出来以后的一些事。最后一章讲领导力，很朴实很直观的经验谈，非常有用。 另外看Major Winters自己谈好友Nixon，全程捂着狗眼，简直闪瞎。
