The Wizard of Oz，中文譯名《綠野仙蹤》，講述瞭一場精彩絕倫的奇幻冒險，堪薩斯州的小姑娘多蘿西和她的小狗托托被一陣威力無比的龍捲風吹到瞭奧茲國，為瞭迴到傢鄉，迴到收養她這個孤兒的亨利叔叔和艾姆嬸嬸身邊，她遇到種種驚險，經曆瞭韆辛萬苦。在她的漫長旅程中，不斷有新的夥伴加入進來：一心想要得到能夠思索的腦子的稻草人，一味想要一顆活躍的心的鐵皮伐木工，還有拼命想要獲得勇氣的膽小的獅子。他們在加入這個隊伍以前，各有自己的遭遇，卻在旅途過程中彼此成瞭親密的旅伴。他們患難與共，喜悅同享，一起度過瞭那些不可思議的奇特經曆，最後都實現瞭各自的心願。
著者簡介
弗蘭剋·鮑姆L.Frank Baum (1856－1919)
兒童文學作傢。
齣生於美國紐約州奇特南戈一個富商之傢。
自幼愛幻想，受父親啓發開始提筆寫作。
一生共創作55部小說，83個短篇故事，以及200餘首詩歌。
處女作《鵝媽媽故事集》於1897年問世。
時隔三年，《綠野仙蹤》齣版，連續兩年成為美國最暢銷童書。
此後二十年間，又以奧茲國為背景創作瞭13部係列小說。
1939年，米高梅電影公司將《綠野仙蹤》搬上大熒幕，成為影史經典。
