著者簡介
埃德加·愛倫·坡（Edgar Allan Poe，1809—1849）：美國詩人、小說傢、文學評論傢，美國浪漫主義思潮時期核心人物，被譽為偵探小說奠基人、科幻小說先驅和恐怖小說大師。他的美學觀點對“為藝術而藝術”和法國的象徵主義有著深遠影響。以他名字命名的“埃德加·愛倫·坡奬”被全世界的偵探推理小說傢們視為至高榮譽。
哈利·剋拉剋（Harry Clarke，1889—1931）：愛爾蘭偉大的藝術傢和工匠，二十世紀著名的花窗玻璃藝術傢及插畫傢。他曾為安徒生、歌德、亞曆山大·蒲柏、柯勒律治等世界文學大傢的作品創作經典插畫，流傳至今。他為愛倫·坡創作的插畫充滿詭譎氛圍，完美呈現其作品中的恐怖美學。
