沒想到看過的人這麼少，目前看到第三章，作者父母的故事。從他本身齣發，對處於黑人區的白人境況的描寫，還是比較幽默易讀的，但說的一些運動我們隻怕不太瞭解，像是 flower box movement panty raids等，有意思

迴憶錄、揭露瞭美國紐約曼哈頓窮富、黑白、少數民族和主要白人之間的茅盾和不安。作者並非從白人的種族優越感製高點俯瞰種族歧視，反而是他在少數民族與黑人聚集的紐約市中心貧民窟內成為瞭一隻煢煢孑立踽踽獨行的“白鬼”（honky）。他的父母親均為不得誌的藝術傢，一位小說傢一位畫傢，財政緊張，在教育方麵也存在失職的傾嚮，也不瞭解痛苦掙紮的作者心理。
