著者簡介

Michael Ondaatje is the author of six previous novels, a memoir, a nonfiction book on film, and several books of poetry. The English Patient won the Booker Prize; Anil's Ghost won the Irish Times International Fiction Prize, the Giller Prize, and the Prix Médicis. Born in Sri Lanka, Michael Ondaatje now lives in Toronto.

我還是最愛Part1。讀到中間段落其實內心裏已經有些明瞭瞭，翁達傑在Part1裏描述的十分動人，迷惘之下缺失且一直在尋找著的，不乏戰火中與能引起共情的相同缺失，但同時也是在獨有細膩之處串起種種片段。後麵偶爾感覺有些脫離，但讓我感受到並且沉迷於他的真切之處在於，尋找與迷失之下又不乏那對這世間即使毫無迴路之處的繾綣與留戀。

科威特jarir書店購得，被第一句吸引瞭書的質量非常好，非常舒適，紙張厚度和觸感很美妙，和書裏的文字一樣美妙少年的思緒很豐滿，清晰，而不混亂夜晚的泰晤士河神秘奇幻，夜裏漂行的人更以何處為傢，隱藏瞭什麼樣的秘密？這是那種拿起來放不下的小說，很難講什麼吸引瞭你，也許是某一個人物的某一個動作，或者整體的暈染的氣氛，忽明忽暗，若隱若現，情感如此，不是親情的親情，似愛情的愛情。一個少年，能承擔的，也僅限如此吧，不能更多上半部迷幻，下半部懸疑+狗血，working mother,到底乾瞭啥，與felcon的過往沒有來由和邏輯，一個年輕母親偶遇少女時代的戀人並追隨他走上間諜之路，一個很不清晰的人物又被虛化瞭的房頂上的男人所掩蓋。結尾很無語，講Anges。這是warlight給人的印記吧

讀翁達傑的文字需要耐心和智慧，看透碎片式敘述之後藏著的那些聯係，如同最後發現的Agnes縫好掛在牆上的毯子，full of codes and unspoken agonies. 雖然跟英國病人的宏大比，這本關於冷戰的諜戰小說有些重復，但有那麼幾句話，讓人心頭一緊。 We change, we evolve. We are what we are for all our sufferings and mistakes in the past. 結尾那段宛若對這本小說囈語般敘述方式的反映：We order our lives with barely held stories. As if we have been lost in a confusing landscape.

喜歡Part1 Schwer. Agnes&狗的雷雨夜很美但中斷的好突然. Part2某些部分突然轉換全能視角/想像視角略奇怪那還安排他做*工作為乜如果隻發現Marsh的關聯和當年The Darter實際在做什麼的話? 哦還有Darter現住址因一首詩而發現的Darter和*真是/"You return to that earlier time armed with the present, and no matter how dark that world was, you do not leave it unlit. You take your adult self with you. It's not to be a reliving, but a rewitnessing."
