挣脱父亲阴影那部分很像educated 爱情故事的部分美好又狗血很多人诟病这本书中用了太多烂俗的小说桥段但都不影响我对它的喜爱因为背景是阿拉斯加那种toughness 那种原始和粗糙不断把我带回那片神奇的土地虽然故事情节可以预料但是作者的写作功力真的很棒尤其是对环境的描写还是很值得一读的啊什么时候还要再去阿拉斯加！

3.5颗星。非常像小说的一本小说。没有什么悬念。情节也不是很吸引人。有着相似命运的母女俩，却走上不同的人生轨道。“Peas in a pod. Two of a kind." 另一方面，书中花了大篇幅描写阿拉斯加的生活，一切都要自己动手来应对残酷的冬天，从储存食品到对付凶猛的野兽。“Alaska isn't about who you were when you headed this way. It's about who you become."

最美的不是其中的一个个人物，而是人与自然交织起的阿拉斯加，这片孤独的土地，这些孤独的人和故事。

呃，就还好。如果说人物是为了描写阿拉斯加而服务的，到是还可以。可是人物本身真的挺单薄的。如果这么多年家暴没有报警，为什么最后选择向警察招供？想坦白也可以找其它的对象。也没有觉得女性人物有多强大。而且跟split一样，对精神疾病的态度。。。整体感觉像低配版educated。

一开始不知道这故事到底想说什么但是看到后来完全emotionally invested 简直跟着Leni被折磨到要崩溃…

总体来说在我听完Chapter26 (total Chapter 32) ：非常暗黑、异常沉重、和Alaska的风雪一起卷入记忆的深夜。书中人物在历经环境艰苦、家庭暴力后终于可以拿得起放得下了，也有些许对越战的反思。语言朴实简单，有些桥段几笔一带场面宏大。比如刚到来时的Alaska与离别时的Alask...

多亏最近坐了两次长途飞机才把这本厚厚的书啃完。作者把阿拉斯加的风景和人文描写得栩栩如生，看完更想去那看极光吃三文鱼。只可惜故事本身有点薄弱，有些老套不够精彩。书里把阿拉斯加和主人公的命运联系在了一起，Leni和她妈妈都把阿拉斯加当成真正的家，她们都觉得在那才能...
