His landmark poem enters the broad stream of human grief and raises in us the strange hope, even consolation, that we find in the writer’s act of witnessing and transformation. 这是最近大受好评的一本诗集，一首长诗，一首哀歌，是失去儿子的父亲、诗人Edward Hirsch的泪作。第一页，父亲看着棺材打开，露出上半身的儿子，他的脸就像腾空一间屋子/他打扮整齐，就像要去参加一个葬礼。这样一字一行写出悲痛，比失语艰难许多。这本书让我想到莎朗-欧茨的《雄鹿之跃》，那种咬碎牙齿直面人生的绞痛心肠，无法不令人动容而肃然。
