具體描述
《開明英文讀本》共三冊，是民國時期極為暢銷的一套英文教材，林語堂編，豐子愷繪插圖，1928年開明書店初版，暢銷二十幾年，與《開明活頁文選》、《開明算學教本》並稱“開明三大教本”。
著者簡介
林語堂（1895－1976），中國現代著名學者、文學傢、語言學傢。福建龍溪人（今漳州市）。美國哈佛大學文學碩士，德國萊比锡大學語言學博士，曾任北京大學教授、北京女子師範大學教務長和英文係主任、廈門大學文學院院長、聯閤國教科文組織美術與文學主任等職。其文化著作及長篇小說《吾國與吾民》、《風聲鶴唳》、《孔子的智慧》、《生活的藝術》、《京華煙雲》皆用英文寫成，是我國現代兼具深厚中國古典文學功底與很高英文造詣的大傢。
豐子愷（1898—1975），漢族，浙江崇德（今桐鄉）人。中國現代畫傢、散文傢、美術教育傢、音樂教育傢、漫畫傢和翻譯傢，是一位卓有成就的文藝大師，是中國引進“漫畫”概念的第一人。
