非常好的教科書。以Black Sabbath為開端再以他們的迴歸為結束。記錄重金屬的三十年曆史，浪潮從NWOBHM到new fusions，風格從thrash到nu-metal，也沒錯過金屬樂對於PMRC、MTV、Napster等音樂工業産物的重要影響。很吸引人的還有fanzines, tape trading,church burnings種種亞文化；以及Lars何時破處，Newsted如何被當成小媳婦，euronymous與varg不瞭情等八卦。Christe擅長引經據典，辭藻相當齣彩，形容得極有畫麵感。看到瞭日本和韓國小小地扮演瞭一些角色，還有穆斯林的金屬文化，隨後忍不住要感嘆中國在那時候根本……

差評，大傢也彆浪費時間買瞭。。很多主觀的東西在裏麵，個人側重喜好偏袒明顯，光看書後的附錄，類似神馬XX大金屬專輯。XX大金屬anthem,就可以亮瞎狗眼。。

咱能先花時間理一下金屬樂發展思路後再裝什麼“××年後的oo音樂沒有存在價值”“only xx is 畜”之類的逼嗎？要是條件允許真他媽希望買一萬本切碎塞到天天裝逼傻缺貼吧黨的喉嚨裏，不過這樣對齣版社和作者似乎又太不公平。總結一下這是本金屬樂迷真心必備的好書，至少各種類型都有相當的篇幅來進行介紹（甚至包括很多樂迷所唾棄的Nu-Metal），至於本書每一章節的唱片推薦單元簡直是太適閤入門到進階的朋友瞭，不說張張精選但是足以讓你對每個sub genre都有一個認識。但這樣的編撰態度最大的問題（要我說是好處）就是會讓那些poser感覺“哇！太不k××t太不t××e太不r××l太不Bru××l！”從而失去一個重新練好內功打下根基的機會。

Ian Christe 的这部关于重金属发展史的著作，是我个人看过的最好的，最值得一看的重金属历史类书籍。首先，他里面没有因为帮助销售就不遗余力介绍很多关于商业乐队的东西，比如 SLIPKNOT、KORN、MANSON... 也不像一些地下死硬刊物刻意回避。在叙述潮流发展的段落中给予恰如...
