白睿文(Michael Berry),1974年出生于美国芝加哥,哥伦比亚大学现代中国文学与电影博士,现职加州大学圣巴巴拉分校东亚系副教授。主要研究领域为当代华语文学、电影、流行文化和翻译学。
著作包括Speaking in Images:Interviews with Contemporary Chinese Filmmakers(2005),《痛史:现代中国文学与电影的历史创伤》(A HistoryofPain:Trauma in Modem Chinese Fiction and Film,2008)与《贾樟柯的故乡三部曲》XJiaZhangke’SHometown Trilogy.2009)。
中英译作包括王安忆《长恨歌》(The Song of Everlasting Sorrow,2007)、余华《活着》(To Live,2004)、叶兆言《一九三七年的爱情》(Nanjing 1937:A Love Story,2003)、张大春《我妹妹》与《野孩子》(Wild Kids:Two Novels About Growing Up,2000)。
