在這幾篇短篇裏托翁的文筆和情節其實都挺普通的，甚至有些“拙”，但故事的力量就擺在那，那種能讓人重新觀察和思考自己生活的力量。

I hate didacticism. And I failed to see much talent from Tolstoy in these depressing stories.

覺得石國雄的譯本比Maude的好……
