读此书前对Syntax并无兴趣、并未较多地接触过。虽然个人感觉过于简单、有很多reiteration以及铺陈过慢。但作为入门读物应该是不错的一本书。

我的第一本句法书，太喜欢了附上作者在开头和结尾都摘的一句话：In any branch of science there are only two possibilities. There is either nothing left to discover, in which case why work on it, or there are big discoveries yet to be made, in which case, what the scientists say now is likely to be false.
