“2000年8月，譚·戈倫夫教授參加在加拿大魁北剋舉行的一次學術會議（Ⅹ Ⅷ IPSA World Congress），提交瞭題為《西藏與美國》（Tibet and The United States）的學術論文，補充瞭在《現代西藏的誕生》一書中未涉及到的20世紀70年代至90年代美國插手'西藏問題'的曆史。同年4月，戈倫夫發錶瞭題為《重估對藏政策》的文章（'Time to Reassess Tibet Policy', The Progressive Response, Vo1.4,No.10,2000.）。
