这本书大概看了40多页就再也读不下去了，一方面是因为排版与纸质的问题，几近80万的小字密密匝匝的挤在这苍白而脆弱的如同风中枯草的白纸上，一眼望不到尽头。而这字又这般是细细弱弱的，但一个挤着一个，低头望下去却又像是堵厚实的墙，一道禁闭的闸门，一个尸骨累累的城堡，...

一直在想到底對這本書是什麼感想。Michel Faber在英國算是以文筆優美著稱的。這本書是其早期作品之一, 2002年出版的 (不敢相信已經是15年前了!), 主線是一名賣身女子在19世紀晚期的倫敦, 如何試圖依靠一個商人來擺脫底層的生活, 但最終還是命運未卜。 此書的強項是對維多利亞時...

由于我的懒惰，拖拖拉拉只翻了几章，没有完成合同，结果中文版就这样被浪费了，稿费也被我浪费了。。。 原作很不错，如果有机会，希望我还是这本厚书的译者。
