阿普列乌斯，古罗马作家。他一生著述丰厚，对哲学、历史、自然科学、文学等皆有涉猎。《金驴记》是他在文学方面的代表作品，表现了他丰富的想象力，颇具浪漫情调，在文艺复兴时期流传甚广，对近代欧洲小说影响巨大。

但刘黎亭先生的译笔相当出色. 此译本当初印数不多，译文社应该安排重版。否则，又有可能重蹈赵译《草叶集》被其他社抢去之覆辙。

评分3.5 同为历险文学题材，借用电影术语，《奥德赛》应该是第一部“海路文学”，《金驴记》是第一部“公路文学”。以变形记串起一系列故事，前面多为希腊罗马神话余音，后面传承为文艺复兴时期市俗文学风格。是《荷马史诗》向《十日谈》的过渡，但人物对话还是古希腊戏剧风格体。
