羅傑•伊伯特（Roger Ebert，1942— ），第一位因寫影評獲普利策藝術評論奬的作 者，生於伊利諾伊州厄巴納（Urbana），在伊利諾伊大學、開普敦大學和芝加哥大學主修英語，於1967年成為《芝加哥太陽時報》（Chicago Sun-Times）影評人，1975年獲普利策奬，同年，他開始與Gene Siskel長期閤作，在電視上主持電影評論類節目“Siskel & Ebert”。1999年Siskel辭世後，他改與Richard Roeper閤作，節目亦更名為“Ebert & Roeper”。自1969年起，伊伯特一直擔任芝加哥大學“Fine Arts Program”的電影課講師，同時任伊利諾伊大學電影與媒體學兼職教授。其間，他獲得科羅拉多大學榮譽博士學位，三十餘載，他每年都在該大學的世界事務會議（Conference on World Affairs）上逐鏡分析一部電影。1999年，伊伯特在伊利諾伊大學創立“滄海遺珠電影節”（Overlooked Films Festival），專門推介被忽略的佳片，每年都吸引許多觀眾和影人參與。
