评分虽然副标题号称是“A world history”，但欧洲部分的内容显然详尽得多。作者用了两个章节来介绍中国方面的盐历史仍然算是惊喜。由一个生活中常见事物串起世界史的写法现在也不太少见了，但每次读到还是觉得挺有新意的。从这个作者的视角，许多战争的起因都是盐；虽然觉得也许稍有牵强，这在很大程度上可能也是事实，毕竟在没有现代手法保鲜的过去，盐真是太重要了，还且不提它其他的医疗和工业的作用。总的来说，写得很好读，看起来轻松有趣有收获。
