吉米·哈利 James Herriot（1916—1995），原名James Alfred Wight，蘇格蘭人。一個多纔多藝的獸醫，也是個善於說故事的高手，被英國媒體譽為“其寫作天賦足以讓很多職業作傢羞愧”。
平實而不失風趣的文風和樸素的博愛主義打動瞭韆韆萬萬英美讀者，並啓發瞭後世的獸醫文學。多部自傳體小說相繼榮登《紐約時報》暢銷書榜首，後被BBC拍成電影和係列熱門電視劇 All creatures great and small。齣版界公認他是少數幾位能在大西洋兩岸英語世界都長期暢銷的作傢之一。
