这是最早出的精装本，除了封面与平装本不同（而且不如平装本好看），内文排版完全一致。一年之后的平装本修正了若干错误（比如第96页的1944那句话是事实错误），还有第29章的notes多了一小段对书中某位奥地利学者看到书之后的来信辩解进行回应。
