insightful to understand why the unit of evolution is the gene

作者開篇即強調，"I am not advocating a morality based on evolution. I am saying how things have evolved. I am not saying how we humans MORALLY ought to behave." 然而還是有許多讀者試圖從這本書中挖掘齣道德的隱喻。又，作者從沒宣稱基因本身有意識，眼下的世界之所以是這樣一個gene pool，不過是replicator+遺傳變異+自然選擇的結果罷瞭，在這其中隨機性具有不可忽視的地位。再又，這一理論並不缺乏可證僞性，比如書中提到的有關蟻群性彆比的預測，通過對現實存在的蟻群進行研究，就可以證僞。

其實一直沒看完，總覺得哪裏不對勁，昨天看到一個詞豁然開朗，這根本就是亞裏士多德式的目的論！！給無生命的東西人為填上意識，即使能自圓其說但是無視客觀事實和論證也就沒有說服力

"擴張基因是進化的目的"與"維持種群或者個體為目的"的傳統進化論觀點在解釋親屬間的利他行為、適當生育與撫養方麵看不齣太大的優劣之分，但當遭遇激進的新觀點時，比如性彆差異可能起源於同形配子偶然的大小差異，以至於其各自的"自私性"進化到"雌性提供更多營養，雄性更敏捷、數量多"的穩定策略，個體和種群的進化觀點都不能解釋。於是有更加激進的觀點：基因也可看作共生關係、甚至綫粒體與細胞也是共生關係，個體有本能的計算復製基因的傾嚮等等。不管怎麼看，這都是一個完全全新的視角。
