經典之作怎麼能輪到我來打分。其實這個時代（和我這個年齡）重看還是稍顯情節簡單，人物形象單薄瞭些。但是雖然是現實主義作品，但是在一些部分還是采用瞭浪漫主義和童話的風格，比如朗普斯金的紡車，送到門口的孩子，從此幸福生活下去的結局等等。自然主義的象徵手法，社會達爾文主義

GE的優點是總有那麼幾句話說到你的心裏去，境遇的轉換，人與人之間的誤解，人與自己的掙紮和和解，都是大部分人會經曆的，她寫齣來讓你覺得真的就是那麼迴事，但GE的短闆就在於她自己想要擺脫女性作傢標簽所做的過分的敘事努力。難怪迷弟James對她書中的女性有那麼多不滿。
