Walker Percy (1916–1990) was one of the most prominent American writers of the twentieth century. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the oldest of three brothers in an established Southern family that contained both a Civil War hero and a US senator. 无聊的家庭琐事的那一部分我不是很喜欢，但是还是有一些内容击中我的。。

難以消解的惆悵。無疾而終的存在朝聖，“a (southern) novel of New Orleans where the protagonist winds up missing Mardi Gras for a stockbrokers' convention in Chicago”, 如青年作者本人驅車拜見福克納卻在他家門口怯場而不敢會面。沒有天啟只溶解在平淡的"everydayness".
