具体描述

The ORIGINAL TEXT ‘Shoot all the Bluejays you want, if you can hit ’em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a Mockingbird.’ A lawyer’s advice to his children as he defends the real mockingbird of this classic novel – a black man charged with attacking a white girl. Through the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee explores the irrationality of adult attitudes to race and class in the Deep South of the 1930s with both compassion and humour. She also creates one of the great heroes of literature in their father, Atticus, whose lone struggle for justice pricks the conscience of a town steeped in prejudice, violence and hypocrisy. 看过好几遍,高二英语课的必读书,研究了半个学期。一开始懵懵懂懂,黑白电影也无法启发我对故事的感受,直到才课堂上反复分析了故事背景,人物关系,也是我当年最喜欢的外文小说。

hmm..西方版的高纯度鸡汤。or 西方普世价值观blablabla?? ..I guess it's a meaningful book . Just not my type...humans are very complicated animals, but the characters in this book fit into each category: the victim, the good, the bad, the ugly.. it's just ..too black and white. I am afraid the reality doesn't work this way

I'm a character in that book, which takes place in the same small town in Alabama where we lived. Her father was a lawyer, and she and I used to go to trials all the time as children. We went to the
