I finally gave the work its own right, as I read it as a whole and sequentially followed its plot. Before this reading, this work often appears in bits here and there as parallel texts to the Bible. This epic deserves its fame and I seemingly understand Ashurbanipal's fascination of it. It's about friendship, coming of age, and quest of immorality.
