A war novel can be more than action. Full of life itself. An action novel leaves you excited but empty, but Hemingway leaves you full and satiated.

for whom the bell tolls? for whom u fight for? the differences between most Republican and Fascist soldiers is the instruction forced on them. Under the uniform, they are all ordinary Spanish people with similar emthusiam for bull fighting and homesick. As for the leaders, power and extravagance are forever center. War is evil!

Hemingway 同學不止是硬漢，還有掩不住的柔情啊。難怪是個lady's man....長得又真他媽的帥。。。看的英文版，不得不說，通俗易懂。
