Play in three acts by Tennessee Williams, first produced and published in 1947 and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for drama for that year. Her neurotic, genteel pretensions are no match for the harsh realities symbolized by her brutish brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski.

太喜欢Tennessee Williams这本剧；Blanche是多么矛盾又真实的女性角色啊，一面梦想女性的自我觉醒，一面又渴望想其他女人一样获得平和圆满的婚姻生活，最后在男权世界的环境重压下必然走向自我毁灭。Stella就是大部分女性的化身，善良而又懦弱服从，会愤怒但是必然回归，依附于男性存在并自我认可这种从属关系，这一点千古来都未曾改变，这也是现代女性最大的悲哀。
