虽然作者是拿过booker奖的严肃文学作家，但是这个集子太令人感觉沉重了，完全没有阅读的趣味。也许只有经历了衰老和死亡的思考，才能跟作者有深切的共鸣吧。虽然没读过追忆似水年华，总感觉会跟这本书风格比较像，所以十年内还是不读了。

语言很跳跃，需要耐心，但有回报。

短篇小说集，有几篇很不错，有些则比较沉闷。

这是我读的第三本朱利安.巴恩斯Julian Barnes的书。前两本书，终结的感受、福楼拜的鹦鹉，准确地说，Mr.Barnes赢得了我的尊重。但这本书他赢得了我的心。 如果说云图是文学模仿音乐的某款习作，那么这本柠檬的桌子则是毫无疑问的精品。 这本小说由几个完全没有任何联系的小故事...  

难以想象。 说实话，突然发现我从来没有想过衰老这件事。我很道学，说白了就是没有野心，一切顺其自然就行。我们要保持健康而不仅仅是假装自己很年轻，对时间的抗拒是无意义的，顺应时间寻求中立保持自尊，生老病死简单的生物问题并不是谁的错误，所以用保持健康来替代对衰老的...
