I lost Ruth, then I lost Tommy, but I won't lost my memories of them. 沒有大起大落和大悲大喜的情節，後半段的揭秘也是一場空。即便是這樣，還是喜歡石黑的文風，淡淡的憂傷和黑白迴憶碎片，細節總是打動人。
评分黑石非常善於用平實的文字、以富有韻味的組閤來描寫細微的心理活動，難怪中文版看瞭兩次都停滯在第4章，而英文版卻歡暢得多。有些東西真是翻譯力所不能及的。
