手记的运用颇有意思，虽然凶手人设不算新意【不过可能在当时算是有新意的，毕竟和某名作不一样】，但是对于日记这个部分的使用很有意思，有一种二律背反的感觉，蛮戳我的点，只是诗人大人的文风依旧俊逸，只能给四星
评分带诗人写的推理小说就是会有过于细腻的毛病，层层铺垫只为了最后一章的惊天逆转。Lewis将这本书分为了四个部分，第一部分是男主长达四十篇的日记，足以劝退不少人。第二部分着重描写他实施谋杀的经过，第三部分是常规的家访，最后将前三个串联起来做出解答。剧情和诡计其实相当简单，谜底也并不难猜，但Lewis非常擅长刻画人物和设计人物对话，不管是日记还是家访部分的内容可读性都相当得高。我尤其喜欢Chabrol在电影版中做出的改动，用另一位带诗人苏轼的那一句:小舟从此逝，江海寄余生来形容再合适不过了
评分前面日记部分较为平淡，后半部分节奏加快，开始精彩起来。一个悲伤的故事。
评分杰作无疑。只可惜《为了赖子》后出转精，让这本书多少有些失色。这个架构完全可以处理得更好，或许是囿于时代原因，处理得比较松散，而且不够意外。或许我也应该写本手记题材来致敬一下。
