著者簡介

Stephen Chbosky grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Southern California's Filmic Writing Program. His first film, The Four Corners of Nowhere, premiered at Sundance Film Festival and went on to win Best Narrative Feature honors at the Chicago Underground Film Festival. He helped edit and contributed material to John Leguizamo's Broadway show, sexaholix. He also edited Pieces, a collection of short stories for Pocket Books. Most recently, he wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed film adaptation of Rent. He also co-created and served as executive producer of the post-apocalyptic drama, Jericho, which found a place in television history when its cancellation prompted fans to send over 40,000 pounds of nuts to the network in protest. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is his first novel. As well as being an author, Steven Chbosky is a film director and screenwriter. He lives in Los Angeles.

This could be the rare case where the movie is no worse than the book. However, it can still count for a 4 star teen novel debut if the characters don't cry that often. It really bothers me they all cry like ALL the time.

算是買Kindle的緣起和第一本紀念。少有的拍得比寫得好，滿篇的“sad”和"cry"有點招架不住。Things change. And friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody. But we have been infinite.

讀完《The perks of being a wallflower》, 感覺真的非常好。作品中有很多值得細味的名句。本作品著重描述年青人的生活、成長、人與人之間的相處和感情的變化。作者以Charlie作第一人稱, 以日記一樣的書信方式描述心靈缺陷的主角的初中生活。很喜歡最後作者道齣, 即使生命中遇到不幸的事情, 即使心靈缺陷, 但假如沒有這一切的經歷, 根本不會成就今天的我, 我也不會遇到身邊我所喜歡的人們, 重點是你自己決定如何麵對你的人生。讀完原文會更喜歡Patrick和Sam, 人生中找到知己, 有屬於你存在的圈子果然是最美好的事情。雖然朋友們總有各散東西的時候, 但當中的牽絆是不會因此而改變的。

好像在是公園的街角長凳上撿到一本日誌，在這個城市不遠的一個角落有個男孩，你會和他一起擔憂、欣喜、煩惱或是勇敢。但是本書卻是一種更為細膩的方式嚮你講述瞭Charlie的世界和生活在他身邊的每個人，他們自己的問題。書的藝術形式真的是很奇妙，每個人站在那裏，你想的卻是和你在一起的那些年的朋友，他們說過的話，打過的架，受過的傷，追過的女孩子。

The Perks of Being a Wallflower，简单但写得动人。困在自我厌弃和山穷水复里，看到可能会来的转机就高兴地哭了。在被其他生命接纳的一刻，迎着风跟灯火感受到无限。这就是为什么我们希望通过走得很远遇见别的人来跳脱此刻的自己，活过来，变得好起来。知道还有别的可能...
