A growing up adventure of a hobbit. Bilbo is just the kind of protagonist that is needed in an adventure: unwilling and complaining at first and changed and honoured in the end. The dwarves are most cute but too obssessed with gold, silver and jewels. Thorin is a great leader. Can't believe Smaug is killed like that!

感觉the battle of five armies还可以再elaborate一些。就宏大和复杂程度来说，这本的定位确实就是前奏，不知道电影拍成三部曲会怎么处理，1整体不错，但是节奏稍慢。anyway, looking forward to the sequel!
