斷斷續續讀瞭大半個月，由果溯因的寫法，作者用很大篇幅稱贊香港垂直、高密度和多層次的城建模式，相比傳統的城市來說資源利用率高，更具有環境友好性，公共設施和綠化對居民來說更加垂手可得。重慶的話密度夠，但公共交通係統跟不上，城區也不夠核心所以到處都挺堵的，想到第一次去五棵鬆的時候，覺得北京矮而寬敞的建築簡直是在炫耀性的浪費。香港的開局不是好牌，山海限製，多元文化，人地矛盾，政府的力量也有限，但是還是在有序無序和脆弱反脆弱的邊緣做成瞭。話說迴來，還是覺得太擠瞭，私人空間啥子東西都小小的，公共空間什麼地方都擠擠的，住久瞭不一定會開心，距離産生美。

認識香港不能不讀的經典之作！以香港的殖民地發展曆史和建築樣式的嬗變與雜糅為兩條主綫，把香港的城市形態、建築樣式、生活方式講得非常透徹，邏輯連貫渾然一體，舉瞭很多典型例子，十分有助於理解。當然一定要在去瞭很多次香港，書中所言都見過走過之後再讀，方能真正理解。美中不足是個彆段落有點繁冗重復，語言稍顯枯燥，可讀性還有提升空間。
