This book kills me. If I had two words to describe it, I would have to say it is the most despicable rendering of Tom Thumb I have ever read in my entire life, but far be it from me to stop you from reading it! It is also the absolute finest version of Tom Thumb I have come across in my many days as a reader, and I have read a lot of books. John William Hurst's novel, "Tom Thumb" is pure metaphysical delight, and without saying as much, it is pure mastery of every kind of writing to behold. I think that, all in all, Hurst has a knack for writing the truth disguised as a fairy tale, but then again, most fairy tales were written as tales disguising the truth. Far be it from me to say otherwise, and this "Tom Thumb" is far and above the absolute most majestic rendering by any account of the tale of a boy named Tom who had the misfortune to be born different than the rest of his classmates. John William Hurst has also written several other novels, some of which are bestselling works around the world. His works include "Jack and the Beanstalk," and "The Troll."
