著者簡介
科尼利厄斯·瑞恩（Cornelius Ryan,1920-1974），齣生於愛爾蘭，晚年加入美國國藉。1943年在《每日電訊報》服務期間齣任歐洲戰地記者，隨軍報道直至攻剋柏林，然後又赴太平洋戰區，曾因工作齣色在美國數次獲奬。1962年又獲意大利班加雷拉文學奬。1973年 瑞恩被法國政府授予“榮譽軍團”騎士稱號。
其主要作品《最長的一天》（The Longest Day）的齣版在世界各國引起轟動，並被福剋斯公司拍成同名電影。他描寫柏林之圍與攻剋的《最後一役》（The Last Battle），被譯成20種文字齣版，另一部《遙遠的橋》（A Bridge Too Far）亦被好萊塢拍成同名電影。

One must read. Legendary account of the most epic day in the past century from a people’s perspective. Cornelius Ryan is legendary for a reason. I think he stacks up well against Rick Atkinson, but my all time favorite WWII writer is still John Toland.
