International contributors, in fields such as computer engineering, information management, industrial engineering, and information systems, explore problems and methods related to enterprise data mining and analysis and discuss challenges for future research. Instead of discussing particular software environments, which may soon become obsolete, the book examines fundamental issues related to enterprise data modeling, with self-contained chapters on key algorithmic and application issues in the mining of enterprise data. A few chapters present new methodologies that are not yet available in commercial software packages. The book will be of use to researchers, practitioners, and graduate students in computer science, business, and engineering. Material originated at the June 2004 Mathematics and Machine Learning Conference held inComo, Italy. Liao is professor in the Department of Construction Management and Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University. Triantaphyllou teaches computer science at Louisiana State University.
