Edward Haddington, who comes from a long line of candle makers, lives in Gladstone, a small village in the Cotswolds. Every twenty-five Christmases, an angel has visited his home and touched one of the candles, and every person who has received this candle has experienced a miracle in their lives. Twenty-four years have passed since the angel last came, and Edward and his wife, Bea, wonder if the angel will come again. If the angel does visit, to whom should they give the candle? Many people in their village could use a miracle?including Edward and Bea themselves.
