"More is More: Tony Duquette" delves into the design philosophy and creative process of this celebrated, over-the-top American artist and designer through images of his countless projects curated by Hutton Wilkinson from Duquette's vast, unpublished archive. This exquisite second volume on Tony Duquette delves into the personal life of this American designer known for his fantastic interiors and fabulous parties. While Abrams' first volume served as a visual biography, this companion volume focuses on his design philosophy, studio practices, concept art and commissioned work. It takes the reader beneath the surface, into Duquette's social habits and the intimate circle of his accomplished friends. Based on 'The Enchanted Vision' (Duquette's three-day UCLA lecture given in the early 1970s), this beautifully illustrated volume explains Duquette's artistic view on the arts of living and the living arts. Also included is a DVD of a never-before-seen film, the last film made by Academy Award-winning director John Frankenheimer, of the Tony Duquette exhibition Our Lady Queen of the Angels. The script is by Ray Bradbury, the film is narrated by Charlton Heston and the score was composed by Garth Hudson of The Band especially for this film. Duquette's voice is also featured and there is a special appearance by him at the end of the film.
