评分这本书就像它名字所说，非常的practical。作者控制了内容的复杂程度，并提供了一些有关教学法的建议，来满足一般英语学习者的需要，是很好的一本英语发音教程。但是作为一本语音音系的入门书来说，专业知识涉及过少，且例子均出于英语，缺乏比较。
